IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS:For Domestic Flights:
Passengers under 14 years old and those aged 14 to under 20 days, holding Vietnamese nationality for domestic flights must carry one of the following legal documents or electronic data of equivalent legal value:- Household registration book;
- Birth certificate;
- Extract of birth certificate (extracted birth information);
- Confirmation document of household registration information;
- For infants under 02 months old without birth certificate, a birth confirmation document is required;
- Level 2 electronic identification account of the passenger;
- Personal information of the passenger in the level 2 electronic identification account of the father, mother, or guardian traveling on the same flight;
- Confirmation letter from social organization for fostered children (valid for 06 months from the confirmation date);
- Confirmation of personal identification by the police, including confirming agency, certifier; confirmation date; full name, date of birth, gender, permanent residence of the person being confirmed; reason for confirmation. The confirmation document is valid for 30 days from the confirmation date;
- Citizen identification card, national identity card, passport (separate passport or accompanied by parents' passports).
Document conditions:
- The above identification documents must be original, include a photo, and be valid for use.
- Birth certificate or birth confirmation document may be original or authenticated copy as per legal regulations.
Passengers of Vietnamese nationality aged 14 years or older traveling on domestic flights need to bring one of the following documents or electronic data with equivalent legal value:- Passport or travel document;
- Exit visa, permanent residence card, temporary residence card;
- National identity card/Citizen Identification Card;
- Police identification or certification, people's armed forces;
- National Assembly delegate card;
- Party membership card;
- Press card;
- International driving license or motorcycle license issued by authorized agency in Vietnam;
- Airport security control card, valid long-term airport security control card;
- Card of the National Civil Aviation Security Committee;
- Identification card of Vietnamese airlines;
- Identity confirmation paper issued by the ward or commune police where the individual resides or temporarily resides (confirmation paper includes the following information: confirming authority, confirming person; date of confirmation; full name, date of birth, gender, hometown, permanent address of the confirmed person; reason for confirmation). These confirmation papers bear a photo, are affixed with overlapping stamps, and are valid for 30 days from the date of confirmation.
- The certificate issued by the competent authority certifies that the passenger has just completed serving a sentence.
- The passenger's Level 2 electronic identification account on the VNeID application.
Foreign passengers must carry one of the following documents or equivalent legal electronic data:- Passport or equivalent international travel documents, documents related to residence in Vietnam such as visas, permanent residence cards, temporary residence cards, APEC business travel cards (except for visa-exempt cases);
- Identity cards issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to members of diplomatic missions, consular offices, and representative offices of international organizations;
- International driving permit or automobile/motorcycle driving license issued by the authorized agency in Vietnam;
- Airport security control card, long-term valid type.;
- Identification card issued by Vietnamese airlines;
- Passenger's Level 2 electronic identification account.
- In case a passenger loses their passport, they must obtain an apostille from the diplomatic or consular mission of their nationality or an official letter from the foreign affairs department (confirmed by the local police where the passport was lost) confirming the passenger's identity and the loss of the passport, with a photo affixed and overlapping stamps. The apostille or official letter is valid for 30 days from the date of confirmation.
FOR INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS: - Passengers must present their passport or other valid travel documents as required by the destination country's regulations.
- To be allowed entry into another country, passengers must apply for a visa to that country before departure. However, each country has different visa exemption policies. Before flying, ensure you have checked the latest information regarding visa requirements or entry requirements of the country you are traveling to.
